The San Francisco office of Prudential Mortgage Capital is actively seeking a highly-motivated, recent (or soon-to-be) graduate from a top undergraduate program for placement as an Investment Analyst to work in its Secondary Markets Group. The Secondary Markets Group is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and recommending commercial real estate debt investments for PMCC including whole loans and participations, B-Notes, and CMBS/CDO bonds. The Secondary Markets Group also performs whole loan dispositions for PMCC, manages a commercial real estate CDO vehicle for which PMCC is the Collateral Manager, and coordinates with third party lenders that co-lend alongside PMCC in large transactions.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide superior analytical support to senior members of the team on a wide variety of assignments, including cash flow modeling, risk analysis, property valuation, and extensive use of proprietary modeling and loan sizing templates.
- Completion of underwriting and due diligence on mortgage investment opportunities for PMCC, including preparation of investment case file for committee approval.
- Assist with and/or manage routine functions of PMCC's CDO vehicle: monitoring compliance with covenants, performing monthly reconciliation process with Trustee, preparing quarterly investor reports, coordinating trades of assets into and out of the CDO, including, for CDO purchases, underwriting/ due diligence and interface with rating agencies.
- Perform monthly monitoring, pricing, and reporting of CMBS and CDO assets under management
- Bachelor's degree from a top undergraduate business, real estate, or related program. A concentration/major in Finance and/or Real Estate is preferred.
- Strong quantitative skills and established analytical ability.
- Demonstrated interest in capital markets and commercial real estate.
- Computer proficiency with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new and proprietary applications.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a deal team.
- Prior experience in the real estate and/or finance field is preferred.
- Knowledge of structuring tools, including Trepp, Intex and Bloomberg is a plus
