Mark your calendar for the next SF|Rex special event, an evening with Luis Belmonte: "Creating Opportunities in a Downcycle." The event will be held on July 14, 2010 at the Le Meridian Hotel San Francisco located at 333 Battery Street, between Sacramento and Clay. Check in for the event will take place between 5:45pm - 6:15pm. Our speaker will begin promptly at 6:15pm and will be followed by a hosted cocktail reception, which will conclude at 8:00pm. Our speaker, Luis Belmonte, has nearly 40 years of experience as a developer and investor. He has established a reputation as one of commercial real estate's premier dealmakers and is also recognized as one of the industry's most sought after speakers. He is a partner in Seven Hills Properties and was formerly Executive Vice President of AMB Property Corporation (NYSE: AMB). At Seven Hills, Luis and his partners have developed and redeveloped 20 million square feet of commercial and residential projects valued in excess of $3 billion, including the recently completed mixed-use development 555 Bartlett, a 58-unit condominium project at Mission and Cesar Chavez Streets in San Francisco. While at AMB, Mr. Belmonte was responsible for more than $1 billion in global development and redevelopment activities and directed the asset management operations for the firm's 50,000,000 SF U.S. portfolio. Prior to joining AMB, Luis spent 16 years with Lincoln Property Company as partner in charge of industrial development in Northern California, developing more than 18,000,000 SF throughout the U.S. Mr. Belmonte has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Santa Clara and did graduate studies in Political Science at UC Berkeley and the University of Chicago.
