SF|Rex was founded in November 2003 by Allison Chapleau, Jenny Scharfeld & Espen Thoegersen (listed in alphabetical order).

Allison Chapleau

Allison is a real estate investment broker at Marcus & Millichap, one of the premier providers of investment real estate brokerage services. She specializes in the sale of multi-housing properties in the San Francisco market as well as other major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. She joined the firm in 2002 after receiving a degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of San Francisco. In her spare time she enjoys surfing and is an avid traveler.

Jenny Scharfeld

At the time of founding SF|Rex, Jenny was an Assistant Vice President at NorthMarq Capital, Inc. Jenny left the Bay Area and ended her involvement with SF|Rex in July 2006 to pursue an MBA at Columbia University. Jenny joined NorthMarq (formerly Trowbridge, Kieselhorst & Company) in September 1999. NorthMarq is a national real estate investment banker providing financing for commercial real estate, including office, retail, industrial and multifamily developments.

In her six+ years at NorthMarq, she helped to finance more than $3 billion of commercial mortgage loans. Jenny was an active member of the Bay Area Mortgage Association and Commercial Real Estate Women. Jenny graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hamilton College with a BS Honors in economics. Her education included a year of studies at the London School of Economics. Jenny raised more than $5,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in connection with her completion of the Honolulu Marathon.

Espen Thoegersen

At the time of founding SF|Rex, Espen was an Associate with The McMahan Group, a management consulting firm specializing in real estate. Espen left the Bay Area and ended his involvement with SF|Rex in July 2004 to pursue his Masters in Real Estate Development at New York University. He recently graduated and is currently living in New York City pursuing his career in commercial real estate.

Espen graduated with Honors from the University of San Diego, where he received a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance.
